When I was 2 years old, I had a hernia operation which threw me off. I was found to have what is called "autism," which is one of the greatest childhood diseases out there.
The doctors told Mom and Dad I wouldn't amount to much, and that I would be put into an institutuion. But they wouldn't buy it; they fought for my right to get a proper education. They raised money for the schools I went to; they even helped clean up the buildings at night.
And they lobbied the politicians to help special needs children get special education and opportunities for advancement. The Democrats(up until they adapted a "pro-death" agenda) really helped working families. Now, thanks to their desires to pass the Freedom of Choice Act, future generations may suffer at the hands of the government.
I'm a graduate of UMass Boston, and I enjoy Celtic music. I sing with my parish choir and I like to pick up empties on the beach. It gets me some needed income, and it helps the environment, too.
I enjoy living here in New England. It's the tops!
